Megan Baxter (my future wife) got me involved with Pecha Kucha Night in Minneapolis as co-organizer and emcee. PKN is a worldwide event created around a unique presentation format.
From the PKN website: “PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public… PechaKucha 20×20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.”
We organized three events, one every other month, in which we found presenters, secured a venue, and designed all the collateral for. It was a really fun project and we met a lot of awesome people.
